Community Guidelines

Effective date: 11 June 2026

Quilld is built for readers who want to track books, cheer each other on, and talk in clubs. These guidelines apply to anything you share with others through Quilld — including your profile, social feed, club chat, polls, quotes, and friend interactions.

Violations may result in content removal or account suspension. Serious or repeated violations can lead to permanent ban.

These guidelines supplement our Terms of Service.

Be kind and respectful

  • Treat other readers the way you'd want to be treated in a book club.
  • Disagree about books, not about people.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking, or targeted abuse.
  • No hate speech, slurs, or content that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.

Keep it safe

  • Do not share content that is illegal, promotes violence, or encourages self-harm.
  • No sexually explicit content, especially involving minors — zero tolerance.
  • Do not share others' private information (addresses, phone numbers, private emails) without consent.
  • Do not use Quilld to scam, phish, or send spam.

Stay on topic

Quilld is for reading and book community life. Club chat and social posts should generally relate to books, reading, or your reading community.

Occasional off-topic conversation is fine; sustained unrelated spam or advertising is not.

Honest identity

  • Use a display name that represents you — not someone you are impersonating.
  • Do not create accounts to evade a ban or to manipulate votes, follows, or club activity.

Quotes, notes, and spoilers

  • When sharing quotes or discussion, be considerate about spoilers — many readers care deeply about this.
  • Only share quotes and annotations you have the right to share. Short excerpts for commentary are generally fine; do not upload full copyrighted books or large pirated passages.

Clubs

Club owners and members share responsibility for keeping clubs welcoming:

  • Club names, descriptions, and messages must follow these guidelines.
  • Do not use clubs to coordinate harassment or distribute harmful content.
  • Report problems to us if a club or member is out of line.

Friends and discovery

  • Only send friend requests or invites you believe are welcome.
  • Optional contact matching is for finding people you already know — do not use it to harvest or spam strangers.
  • Respect when someone declines a follow or friend request.

Reporting and enforcement

If you see content or behaviour that breaks these guidelines, email infocovexapps@gmail.com with:

  • Your username (if applicable)
  • The other user's display name or club name
  • What happened and when
  • Screenshots if helpful

We review reports as we can. We may not always disclose enforcement actions to reporters.

Appeals

If you believe we made a mistake, reply to our notice or email infocovexapps@gmail.com with "Guidelines appeal" in the subject. Include your account email and a short explanation.
